Positive Displacement Pumps

Positive displacement pumps move a predetermined volume of liquid per pump revolution almost regardless of the resistance the liquid encountered, enabling them to achieve very high pressures. There is often some minimal internal bypass leakage dependant on the pump type, fluid viscosity & system pressure which is usually calculated when selecting the pump.
